Final tips and pointers

We have recommended a disco ball or some other flashing lights to encourage your karaoke spectators to dance. There is no reason why you can not take it to the next level and create a real dance club environment. For tips on how to do this check out our Dance Club party.

You will almost certainly have some shy guests who will be reluctant to step foot on stage. Be sure not to push them into anything they do not want to do, but also keep in mind some might appreciate a bit of encouragement. You may find some are happy to go on stage as long as they do not have to sing, so give them an inflatable guitar and have them play back up. There is a good chance that once on stage, they will change their mind about singing.

Decorations:

	Balloons You can purchase a wide variety of balloons at Oriental Trading, but similar balloons are likely available at your local party store, which is a better option if you plan to have them helium filled.
	Streamers Match these to your balloon color choices.  Available at Oriental Trading or your local party store.
	Poster You can buy generic posters from Oriental Trading or buy posters of your kids' favorite bands and singers.
	Red Carpet You can buy cheap 'carpet' at some party stores, but our recommendation is heavy duty red wrapping paper. We have find this works well if properly anchored to the ground.
	Mirror ball or other spinning disco lights Nothing beats the classic mirror ball, but there are an endless variety of disco lights one could chose from. Oriental Trading sells an all-in-one kit that includes a small mirror ball, motor, and colored spot light.

Activities:

	The Karaoke Channel Store What is a Karaoke Party without great karaoke music? The Karaoke Channel Store allows you to create custom cd's with your kids favorite songs. If your party is to be a success, you will need songs your kids and their friends love!
	Tattoos Your little budding celebrities will enjoy putting on temporary tattoos as they prepare for the red carpet.
	Face painting No need to hire a professional. Buy a decent kit and limit the options to simple designs. We have found the Klutz face painting book to be both good quality and very helpful for beginners
	Boas, ties, purses, sunglasses, costume jewelry, hats and scarves Perfect for your dress-up room, most of these can be purchased at a large online party retailer like Oriental Trading.

Favors:

	Sunglasses These can be bought in bulk at oriental trading. You can either give these away during the dress up session or in a favor bag at the end.
	Guitar key chains We turned these guitar key chains from Oriental Trading into backstage passes by adding laminated paper name tags.
	Inflatable guitars and microphones These make great props for the karaoke and the kids can take them home as favors at the end.
	Guitar pick zipper pulls Kids will enjoy putting these pulls on their backpack or jacket. We found these within the Rock Star accessories on Oriental Trading.
	Rock bracelets These fun bracelets, available at Oriental Trading, could be put in the favor bag, or handed out in the rock lounge.
